June Loons Day 14!

June Loons are working hard all told
And many Loons have items sold,
Our challenge to list an item a day,
For some is really starting to pay!

A challenge is by nature tough,
But Loons understand this well enough,
We’ll bead and sew, knit and paint
Until June 30th without complaint!

Personal Mini Treasury!

Today I listed one my fossil keyrings, or handbag charms, if you prefer. But instead of an ammonite, for a change went for an even older fossil, and Orthoceras.

The Orthoceras was an ancient mollusk that lived more than 400 million years ago. The name means straight horn, referring to the characteristic long, straight, conical shell. The preserved shell is all that remains of this ancestor of our modern-day squid. They are most often found in rocks from the Ordovician period but do occur later as well, at least into the Devonian.

If you would like a more in-depth look, the item and a full description can be found in my folksy shop, just click on the photo. Thank you!

Crafts and Curios.

My last few feature June Loon Blogs have been weighted towards jewellery, so decided today to pick out non jewellery items from the June Loons. There is a huge variety of talent and craft amongst the June Loons and on Folksy as a whole, so today’s treasury features paper and card crafts, fabric crafts and bead crafts showing unique items created in these mediums.
