Foolish Madness to list an item a Day!

When RedBirdJewellery came up with the idea for a list an item a day challenge, little did we know how much fun it would be!

The idea was to see if the challenge which was in essence a market research tool, would make any difference to levels of view and of course sales for the artisans and crafters taking part.

Some had large sales, some like myself only one, and some none at all. I noted a large increase in views, yet some felt their views were much the same as in previous months. I can only talk of my own experience, if nothing else, it was a very enjoyable challenge and I now feel like an established member of the Folksy community and family!

There may have been more sales made during or after this blog was published!Well done to all the Folksy Foolers whether we had sales or not, I hope we all gained something from the challenge, even if it was only comradeship, or in my case comradeshop, as I found some things difficult to resist!

Folksy Friday Party!

Festive Folksy Friday Frolics! For those of you who do not know, I have been part of a Folksy Fooler Gang to list an item a day during April. Well - phew! we've got there and were going to have a virtual folksy forum party tonight to celebrate completion! You're welcome to join us! To get us in the party mood, I asked follow folksy crafters for party themed items, had got a huge response, obviously we are a happy, fun loving bunch at Folksy. Well you can't have a party without cake, decorations and music! And more cake, decorations, glitzy party accessories and even some party games.

Folksy Fooler's, Almost There!!!

Those of us who were brave or insane enough to try to list an item a day during April, calling ourselves the Folksy Foolers, are almost at the end of out challenge!

There will be a big forum party to celebrate! So bring along the virtual cake, biscuits and anything else you fancy to munch upon, and we'll look to see how successful or not it has been for the Foolers in increasing views and hopefully sales of our craft items.

If all else fails, I can certainly say I have enjoyed being part of the Gang and have made some lovely forum buddies and I really feel part of the Folksy community!

Leaf Treasures!

Spring Extravaganza!

Like many crafter's I am inspired by nature, by the things I see around me and the colours and textures of nature. I often use this inspiration to help me design and co-ordinate the crafts I create, be it knitted and crocheted items, gemstone jewellery, keyring or handbag charms and there is an obvious link to nature and fossils, which I love to utilise!

Now we see that spring is in the air, with spring blooms, the occasional bright blue sky and the first sign of spring in the new leaves sprouting everywhere, I felt inspired to ask my fellow crafter's if they too felt their creative juices flowing where leaves are concerned, and the response I received was overwhelming, so therefore I have decided to show something from everyone who responded, in a major craft treasury, a whole bank's treasury to be exact!
