Folksy Friday! Preparing for a Fall.

Preparing for a Fall!

No, this blog is not a Health and Safety mandate, but Fall of a differing nature, literally, our American cousins take the dropping of the leaves as the inspiration for their name for the season, which we of course refer to as Autumn.

I know it is still high summer, or so we are told, but the weather of late has not felt like that, so have decided to start popping Autumn inspired items into my shop, one of which is this striking handbag, in vibrant red, with felt leaf embellishments and gorgeous up-cycled strands of bohemian glass beads for the strap.

Definitely a handbag for the lady that celebrates the seasons! A striking handbag for the lady that likes unique and bespoke items.

Autumnal Feature Gallery!

I would like to follow the theme and have searched out some lovely items from my fellow Folksters, who also like to celebrate the seasons, gorgeous creations in many mediums and styles, I hope you will enjoy and celebrate my choices with me.

Please just click on the items to skip and dance in the breeze to the shop in question, and you never know, some of them might settle into your basket along the way.

I hope you don't fall over yourselves to look at these lovely autumnal items.

Thank you for taking the time to leaf through my findings.

A Stitch at a time!

Wonderful Embroidery!

I have recently been trying to teach myself embroidery and am really enjoying the challenge!

I have no idea what any of the stitches are called or even if they exist outside of my imagination, as I am making it up as I go along, a bit like my life really! I just like to see what my endeavours turn out like and if they resemble something remotely identifiable, then I am pleased. I usually ask my children and hubby "Can you tell what it is?" And if they get anywhere near close to the item, animal or subject I was going for, then that is good enough for me.

I have lots now in my shop, and have even sold a few, which has really pleased me and surprised my friend, (not a fan of home made) who can't understand why anyone would part with cash for something someone made in their front room, but she's not happy unless it is mass produced and has a recognisable name on it, but each to their own.
Here are just three little examples of my embroidery attempts.

But I bow to experience and here are some wonderful embroidered items, in various style and themes that inspire me to try harder and keep going!

Embroidered Gallery!

Please pin point the item, by clicking on it, which will take you to the Folksy shop in question, where you can really examine the needle work in detail and see just how wonderful it is.

There are so many examples of stunning embroidery on Folksy, I could do a feature blog every day and feature something new and inspiring each time! If you feel inspired to search our embroidered item, please visit Folksy and type 'embroidery' in the search engine and you will be greeted with a wealth of wonderful items.

I hope you have enjoyed my little visit the the land of needlecraft.

Thank you.

Horsey Horsey!

Equine Adventures!

Yesterday I decided to attempt to embroider a new subject, a little prancing pony. Having never attempted a horse or pony before, it was a little challenge, and I wanted to try to embroider some character into the ACEO, as ponies are such willful little creatures, full of life and vigour, I hope my little chap came out as jaunty and run-a-muck, which is what I was going for, dashing about in the paddock, as though he owned the field.

Gorgeous Horses and Ponies from my Folksy Friends.

Having enjoyed stepping into the equine world, I thought it might be a great idea to feature some other horsey creations from my folksy friends.

Please click on the pictures to gallop across to the paddocks in questions where these gorgeous horses and ponies are stabled, waiting for you to bring them a little sugar lump or polo, cash might be good too. LOL!

If you have enjoyed my little equine adventure, please show your appreciation by breaching a few jumps, and racing to take a look at these wonderful crafts in more detail.

Thank you!

Yarn Creations!

Fancy A Yarn?

After all the jewellery blogs of late, I though I would concentrate on another of my loves, playing around with yarn. Knitting, Crocheted and lots more to be found in fabulous yarns on Folksy, and always a talking piece.

My hubby calls me the Knitting Natter, very apt if I say so myself.

Fabulous Yarn Creations!

Such a wealth of talent on Folksy and I could devote many pages to yarn creations and the amazing designs, items and stunning yarns used, so have limited myself to just a few, to show you the variety on offer.

Please click on the pictures, to get hooked across to the shop in question.

I hope you have enjoyed my yarn journey and agree with me that it is such a versatile medium to work in.
