Folksy Friday! How Much?!?

How Much is that Doggie in the Window!?!

My husband is a dog handler and although we don't have a dog at home at the moment, we are very much dog lovers, so thought it might be nice to have a Folksy Friday Blog dedicated those lovely creatures, which are very much Man's and Woman's best friend!

My husband's previous dog Tess, a German Shepherd, came to live with us when she retired from active work and very much became my dog!

She and I had nightly walks on our own and daily ones with the children and I can say that when walking with Tess I have never felt so safe walking without another human companion, she was so obedient and attentive, due in no small part to her wonderful training, but also by her instinctive good nature an natural care and love for her carers.

Tess was wonderful with my children.  My two elder children, both boys, had previously been a little concerned around larger dogs, but when Tess came to stay, they soon became easy in a larger dogs presence, and my daughter, who was dwarfed by Tess, had no issues or concerns, in fact led Tess around at nose to nose height, hung around her neck and held on her tail with no worries what so ever, in fact Tess was ever long suffering and happy to be my daughter's play thing, instinctively knowing she needed special care and tolerance.

Tess had two happy and carefree years of retirement with us, until she passed away in her sleep, curled up in her bed, so in her memory, I would like to have a Doggie inspired Folksy Friday.  I hope you enjoy my Doggie finds today.

Please click on the pictures to take a walk to these shops in questions and see these wonderful dog creations in all their glory.

I hope you have enjoyed my Doggie finds today!

  3. Oh, reading this brought a tear to my eye! What a wonderful dog - you must sorely miss her. Our oldest rescue mongrel is now 15 years old - I dread the day he leaves us, but this reminds me to enjoy every moment with him that we have left. Thanks for including my copper wire dog pendant.
