Folksy Friday - Wreaths

A Wreath is Not Just for Christmas!

I have recently started making wreaths and became a bit addicted, using a copper wire base and then wrapping in yarn, material fragments, or ties, to create a pretty and interesting base to decorate, some with buttons, or crocheted adornments, in fact anything I felt looked attractive and made an interesting wreath and so came to realise that the wreath could make a lovely home decoration all year round, therefore, to use and modify a phrase often used for pets at the festive season, I realised that a "Wreath is not just for Christmas!"

I opened a thread on the Folksy Forums to find out if anyone else felt the same as I did and had a wonderful response, so my Folksy Friday is a Campaign to raise awareness that a wreath is not just for Christmas!

If you too would like to support the campaign, please click on the pictures to view these lovely wreaths in all their glory and maybe you could suggest an event, or special occasion you feel these wreaths may be appropriate for, or maybe which rooms you feel they might best adorn.

Thank you for supporting my tongue in cheek campaign, but hope you too agree that these lovely wreaths deserve pride of place all year round!

Thank you!

Folksy Friday! How Much?!?

How Much is that Doggie in the Window!?!

My husband is a dog handler and although we don't have a dog at home at the moment, we are very much dog lovers, so thought it might be nice to have a Folksy Friday Blog dedicated those lovely creatures, which are very much Man's and Woman's best friend!

My husband's previous dog Tess, a German Shepherd, came to live with us when she retired from active work and very much became my dog!

She and I had nightly walks on our own and daily ones with the children and I can say that when walking with Tess I have never felt so safe walking without another human companion, she was so obedient and attentive, due in no small part to her wonderful training, but also by her instinctive good nature an natural care and love for her carers.

Tess was wonderful with my children.  My two elder children, both boys, had previously been a little concerned around larger dogs, but when Tess came to stay, they soon became easy in a larger dogs presence, and my daughter, who was dwarfed by Tess, had no issues or concerns, in fact led Tess around at nose to nose height, hung around her neck and held on her tail with no worries what so ever, in fact Tess was ever long suffering and happy to be my daughter's play thing, instinctively knowing she needed special care and tolerance.

Tess had two happy and carefree years of retirement with us, until she passed away in her sleep, curled up in her bed, so in her memory, I would like to have a Doggie inspired Folksy Friday.  I hope you enjoy my Doggie finds today.

Please click on the pictures to take a walk to these shops in questions and see these wonderful dog creations in all their glory.

I hope you have enjoyed my Doggie finds today!

Optimistic October!

Feeling Optimistic in October!

We've come to that time again, another new month and another Daily listing club!

The September Sellers have moved over to the October Optimists, which is a very positive name for a positive start to the month, which on the first day had a collective sales tally of 22 sales, in the word of the younger generation "Way to Go!"

But we can move away from September Sellers without celebrating their successes, which were many!

In total there were 403 collective sales and many sellers saw multiple sales, which is just wonderful, September's top seller, by one additional sale, was the lovely Helen of  HelleBellesCards with a fantastic 24 sales for the month!

Optimistic Feature Gallery!

To start of this new month, full of promise and the hints of sales in the air, I have chosen some of my favourite items to showcase, please click on the pictures, to fly across to the items and shops in question, for the full details and even more wonderful pictures.

And a Little Feature Gallery of my own!

This is the latest in my hand coiled and hand sewn cotton rope handbags, this one is called Anastasia's Orchid!

I hope you have enjoyed my little Optimistic Gallery and will join us Optimists in a fabulous October!
